研究 Opportunities at Rosario Beach Marine Laboratory

Opportunities are available for faculty and student research at Rosario during any time of the year.  Most research activities occur in conjunction with the summer academic session. Potential visiting researchers (non-WWU faculty and undergraduate/graduate students who are conducting independent research projects) need to provide the following:

• Rosario 研究er Application
• Rosario 研究 Liability Waiver
• A letter from your home institution's chair, 迪安, or appropriate administrator confirming that you will be conducting research at Rosario as a representative of your home institution (including dates).

Costs shown below are for the eight-week summer academic session. Costs can be prorated for researchers staying for shorter or longer periods of time. For research during times other than the summer, please contact the director for costs and facilities availability.

• 住房:$1,482 for family housing, $1012 for residence hall (shared) housing during the eight-week summer session, prorated for other lengths of stay.
• 食物: 研究ers housed at Rosario have the option of eating in the cafeteria ($1,512 flat fee) or providing their own food. The cafeteria is open only during the summer session.
• 实验室费用: A 600美元的费用 (for the eight week session) covers customary and normal use of laboratory/office facilities, 计算机访问, 还有小船. It does not include expendable research supplies and chemicals.  This fee will be waived for Walla Walla University students and students conducting research with a paying visiting faculty member. 
• 大型船费: (for 17' and 20' Boston Whalers): 35美元/小时.
• 车辆费用 (drivers must be on the appropriate “WWU Approved Drivers List”): $0.50 /英里

All researchers living or storing items in university-owned facilities should consider property insurance to cover personal and research items that may be lost, 损坏的, and/or destroyed by accident, 盗窃, 或者其他方式. Walla Walla University does not provide insurance to cover a researcher's personal or research items; this is the responsibility of the researcher.
